The Cathedral of Santiago launches a new interactive audioguide for iOS and Android

Together with the Cathedral of Santiago Foundation, we invite you to live an interactive experience at this cultural and religious monument. The new Cathedral of Santiago app, available for iOS and Android, will motivate visitors to cherish its traditional beauty more than ever. We are talking about the monument’s new official audioguide service, now available for mobile devices.

Tourists will be able to explore it like never before with an interactive map, narratives, videos, historical images and high quality pictures that will enrich the visit to the temple and to the Cathedral of Santiago Museum. In a few words, everything they need to enjoy a tour through the most popular spots of the destination in an autonomous way.

Tourists will be able to have a close look at the corners and details of the cathedral set through more than 200 images and 40 narratives included in the audioguide. For instance, the app shows a virtual recreation of the old Master Matheo’s choir on its original location: the central nave. They will also have access to some images of its reconstruction, currently located at the Cathedral Museum.

Visitors will enjoy a brief selection of the contents of the Cathedral and the Museum to spark their interest. Contents are available in 4 languages and subtitled to provide an accessible experience for hearing impaired people. Those with no internet connection at the Cathedral will be able to download the content before the tour.

Visiting the Cathedral in this new interactive way is not only a great opportunity for tourists but also for the Cathedral of Santiago Foundation. Its authorities can add content, languages and accessible resources using an online content manager developed by GVAM.

If you are going to the Cathedral, do not hesitate to download the app on your iOS or Android device to make the most of your visit.
